Nature poems for Lent

This new book isn't a typical one recommended for Lent, but Haiku Happening with Senryu & Other Mini-poems was published on Ash Wednesday and almost immediately appeared on Amazon in paperback and e-book.

More important, these reader-friendly poems take you through the seasons of nature - Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter - and then the "Seasons of Us" - Life, Death, Infinity. Unlike eternity, however, that last section wound up being the briefest since we haven't yet entered that part of Life.

Many of these poems have previously appeared in e-zines or journals with more on the Facebook page for The Art of Haiku 5-7-5 - a group whose encouraging responses kept me writing during some difficult times and joyful ones too.

Regardless of circumstances initiating a poem, each gives attention to some aspect of nature - human or otherwise - that God created. So, my hope and prayer is that each page will resonate with readers and help them deepen their appreciation for the natural wonders all around.

Thanks and blessings.
